Why did you build with straw?
We decided to build using straw for the following reasons:
- straw is an agricultural by-product
- lower cost compared to conventional construction
- insulation value (R-45); more fire retardent than stick homes
- material was relatively easy to work with and wall construction process would happen quickly (it was also easy for us, and friends, to do!)
How many bales did you use?
